Chocolate Chip Carrot Cake

1 cup butter

1 ¾ cups sugar

3 eggs

2 ½ cups flour

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp cinnamon

1 tsp nutmeg

½ tsp allspice

2 Tbs baking cocoa

½ cup water

1 Tbs vanilla

2 ½ cups shredded carrots

¾ cup chopped walnuts

¾ cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 175°C. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture alternately with water and vanilla. Fold in carrots, nuts and chips.

Turn into prepared 33 x 23 cm pan. Bake for 45 minutes.

Oven Temperature: 175°C

Cooking Time: 45 minutes
