hot water

Cream together shortening and sugar. Beat in the egg, then the molasses. Sift together the dry ingredients; stir into molasses mixture. Gradually add the hot water, beating until smooth.

Grease muffin pans and fill 2/3 full with batter. Bake at 175°C for 20-25 minutes or until done.

Yield: 24 Muffins

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Oven Temperature: 175°C
